Doug Bearing and his wife Stacy are both foodies with a passion for great tasting, healthy food. They both love salsa and struggled to find one they liked in stores, as they usually contained chemicals, preservatives, added sugars, and thickeners. Having a culinary background Stacy said “you’re the chef, make your own”. So he did just that! The pair started canning their all-natural salsa for personal consumption and shared it with family and friends – and everyone loved it. In 2011 they formed Little Diablo Salsa company and investigated having their recipe made professionally by a manufacturer. This proposed a problem because we wanted it produced without chemicals or preservatives and still be shelf-stable. The manufacturer suggested cheap ways of making the salsa to give it a longer shelf life. But Doug and Stacy didn’t want “easy” or “cheap,” they wanted great! They put both their names on the jar as a personal guarantee of the highest standards for taste and quality. The duo also registered its catch phrase: “If you didn’t know it came out of a jar, you wouldn’t know it came out of a jar”.® The company continues to create a variety of fresh, enticing and satisfying salsas, with seven great recipes from which to choose.
